Simulation and Modeling Approaches Useful for Automotive EMC Analysis

Presenter:

Karen Burnham, EMA Principal Scientist I

Abstract:

Failing automotive EMC requirements in the test lab leads to many extra costs and schedule delays. With the push for more electric vehicles (EVs), the electromagnetic environment in a car is getting harsher. With the advent of autonomous vehicles (AVs), more and more systems are falling into the “safety critical” category with the strictest susceptibility rules. And there’s always a push to develop more Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) capability. In this webinar Karen Burnham (EMA®, Ford Motor Company, NASA) will describe a variety of simulation and modeling techniques that are useful for EMC analysis and prediction. In particular she will discuss ways to combine different approaches to get 360 degree, PCB-to-full-vehicle information about EMC performance. Whether you’re laying out a PCB board, taking a module in for testing, designing cable harnessing, or responsible for meeting full vehicle regulatory EMC requirements, this webinar will give you additional tools that can help you achieve EMC testing success at the first pass.
