Design Review
Testing and simulation let electronics designers know if their products work as intended or will meet compliance standards. However, when a problem arises, using these methods to precisely identify its source can be time-consuming. The best starting point for finding an answer is to look at the schematic design.
EMA Design Review
EMA provides comprehensive design review services. These services ensure that your projects advance to market with greater speed and confidence, eliminating potential pitfalls early in the development process.
Creating a schematic is the first step in the design process. It lays out a general overview of an electronic device’s basic features, including printed circuit boards (PCBs). PCBs are a key part of electronic devices, and because of their complex structures, are a likely source of potential failure.
EMA is able to use a schematic design review to find potential EMI/EMC problems in a PCB by looking at stackup, routing, termination schemes, connectors, signal pins, traces, and more to optimize performance and reliability. EMA design reviews also help you focus simulations, allowing you to make more informed decisions.
Our Offering Includes
Our design review process consists of four steps:
- Schematic review
- Layout review
- Simulation
- Report
We are able to review designs to help you pass radiated emissions, radiated susceptibility, conducted emissions, and conducted susceptibility tests. EMA consultants have extensive experience passing standards from the FCC, CISPR, and MIL-STD-461G
You can come to us before you make an initial prototype or after when you notice issues that could impact functionality or meeting compliance requirements. However, EMA does believe the earlier you review your designs the better.
We can complete design reviews on all electronic designs. We specialize in PCBs, but also evaluate packages and chips, and the effects of PCBs connected to cables and enclosures.
