Ansys Partner Spotlight
For nearly five decades, EMA has been on the cutting edge of developing and providing technologies and services to promote the design, certification, and performance of a variety of products. This includes automobiles, consumer electronics, military and civilian aircraft, rail, and aerospace.
EMA provides three main services: measurement, consulting, and simulation.
Measurement:
EMA provides a variety of testing services. Testing can be done for analysis or during the design or certification stages of product development. Our test services are state-of-the-art with experts to help you at every step along the way.
Only available through EMA, is the Automatic Radio Measurement System (ARMS) and the Space Environment and Radiation Effects (SERE) test facility.
EMA developed ARMS to measure the broadband performance of RF transmitters and receivers.
With ARMS, our team can rapidly and accurately characterize the performance of RF systems without having to make educated guesses or use worst-case assumptions.
EMA is making space evaluations possible for all companies through SERE. Measurements are possible through a complete test facility and modern simulation tools. SERE cuts the risk and cost of testing in space or other high radiation environments. It is located in the Berkshire Innovation Center in Pittsfield, MA.
Measurement abilities include:
- HIRF testing
- Lightning testing
- EMI/EMC testing
- RF measurements
- Space Environment and Radiation Effects

Consulting:
EMA consultants have the experience and training necessary to help you with all your software, consulting, and measurement needs. With decades of experience, our consultants have seen and solved every problem out there. EMA also has an FAA designated engineering representative (DER) on staff.
Consulting areas include:
- Automotive EMC
- EMI/EMC
- EMP
- HIRF
- Lightning
- RF Interference
- Space Environment and Radiation Effects

Simulation
EMA simulation software tools include Ansys EMC Plus and Ansys Charge Plus.
Ansys EMC Plus is a one-of-a-kind EMC simulation tool. It has the ability to perform platform level EMI/EMC modeling and analysis faster than other available tools. EMC Plus’s 3D Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) approach is capable of capturing the detail of highly complex platforms such as aircraft, automobiles, and electronics systems. It is integrated with the Ansys Discovery platform which makes it easy-to-use and easy to learn.
Some of the things you can analyze using EMC Plus:
- Radiated coupling to cables.
- Radiated emissions from cables.
- Coupling through shields.
- EMI crosstalk between cables.
Ansys Charge Plus analyzes charging and plasma phenomena. Its time domain solvers help you assess and manage risks associated with excessive charge build-up, which can result in material degradation, arcing, and electromagnetic interference in harsh radiation environments or high voltage systems. Charge Plus can be used to assess products like electronics or spacecraft.
Charge Plus capabilities:
- Nonlinear air chemistry
- Material charging
- 3D particle transport
- Nearest neighbor approximations and iterative solvers
- Analytical time-varying voltage and current source
EMA maintains EMA Plus and Charge Plus with new features being added regularly. The products are sold exclusively through Ansys. To get started using EMC Plus click here. For Charge Plus click here.
